Terms and Conditions

1. General Conduct

As your driving instructor I will always be courteous, polite, tidy and punctual on your driving lessons. I will behave in a professional manner, with fairness, equality, dignity, diversity and respect. My vehicle is a non-smoking area. My vehicle will be well maintained, clean and tidy during your driving lessons. My vehicle is fitted with dual-controls and I am fully insured as a driving instructor whilst using my vehicle for your driving lessons. Any claims that may be made against Success School of Motoring because of an accident will be restricted to the terms and conditions of my insurance policy. Details of the policy can be made available upon request of the leaner drivers.

 

2. Qualifications

I am a fully trained and qualified (DVSA) Approved Driving Instructor. I have passed my DVSA training and hold a current (CRB) Criminal Record Bureau check.

 

3. Course Materials

I may use certain DVSA training tools, books, DVD’s and other training information available from the DVSA website during your driving lessons. It is the responsibility of the learner driver to make sure that they consider the DVSA materials useful and appropriate for them as part of their learning.

 

4. Driving license and Eyesight

The learner driver must hold a current valid UK driving licence (provisional or full), which must be produced on or in advance of their first lesson. The learner driver must check that they can read a number plate at a distance of 20.5 metres (i.e. 67 feet – about 5 car lengths) with glasses if worn. From June 2015 a driver (learner or licensed) must at the instructor’s request provide the necessary code to allow access to their driving record.

 

5. Payments Please note

I request that payment must be made in advance of any driving lesson’s starting. I request that payment for discounted block bookings are paid in full before lessons start. Please note, the deposit or any subsequent training fees paid are non-refundable in the event you decide to cancel the training once the booking has been accepted by your driving Instructor, and a start date agreed. At this point we will have a binding contract agreement. This does not in any way affect your statutory rights to be provided with the goods and services you have bought.

 

6. Lesson Postponement or Cancellation

24 hrs notice of a cancellation is required to avoid a lesson fee, however if I can obtain additional work for any individual lessons cancelled, I will not ask for payment. If it’s not possible to rebook the time set aside for your lesson I will ask you pay for your lesson. I do reserve the right to postpone lessons if I consider the weather or road conditions are unsuitable or dangerous. I cannot be held responsible for any costs incurred because of having to postpone any lessons, for whatever reason.

 

7. The Driving Test

a) Driving tests should be booked by you, the learner driver, after you have checked my availability. Driving test bookings will always take priority over other lessons. Therefore, your lesson may be postponed allowing for someone else’s driving test and vice-versa. Any Changes to your lesson bookings because of this you will be notified immediately. I ask that you notified me immediately when a driving test has been booked because my future lessons will have to be scheduled. If advanced notice is not given, then the availability of my vehicle for your driving test cannot be guaranteed and you may need to make alternative arrangements for your driving test.

b) I Use of the vehicle In the Interests of learner drivers and the public’s safety I reserve the right to withhold the use of my vehicle for your driving test, if in my professional opinion as your driving instructor I assess that your driving is or potentially dangerous on the road.

 

c) Test cancellation

The DVSA requires three clear working days’ notice of cancellation or postponement of your driving test. Failure to provide the required notice will result in the loss of your test fee. I cannot be held responsible for any postponement or cancellation of tests by you or the DVSA for any reason.

8. Punctuality

It is the learner driver’s responsibility to be punctual/ on time for every driving lesson appointments. I will wait for a maximum of 1.S minutes before the full driving lesson will be abandoned and the lesson fee charged at full payment. If I am delayed due to unforeseen circumstances any lesson time lost because of this would be made up by me, either at the end of the normal lesson time if possible or later.

 

9. Leaner Comfort and Safety

In the interests of comfort and safe,, leamer drivers are advised to wear suitable footwear and clothing which does not restrict they movement. Learner drivers must take note of any medication they are taking that may affect their ability to drive safely and rnust inform their driving instructor imrnediately before taking any lessons booked. Depending on the medication being taken and its impact on the learner driver, when assessing risk, the driving instructor may request that the learner driver produce a letter from they GP whether the learning driver it fit to continue to drive.

It is a criminal offence If the learner driver attends their driving lesson under the influence of substance’s e.g. alcohol or drugs. The driving lesson will be suspended immediately, and full payrnent will be charged.

 

10. Complain

In the event of a complaint or the learner driver is dissatisfied, the narned driving instructor must be inforrned irnmediately by the learner driver to make every effort to resolve the problem directly to reach a satisfactory solution.
